Tympanum Records boss EAS readies ‘Tsukuyomi’ EP for OMEN Recordings
Following releases on Perc Trax, Clergy, SOMA, and more, Southern Californian DJ/producer EAS prepares the 22nd release on Los Angeles based OMEN Recordings. Turning in four heavy-duty Industrial and EBM influenced originals with remixes from HATELOVE and OMEN Recordings co-founder AXKAN, the mammoth six-track EP is packed to the brim with dark, merciless sounds.
Leading the release, ‘Great Red Dragon’ opens with heaving kick drums and sizzling hats, before title cut ‘Tsukuyomi’ brings haunting atmospherics and grinding sound design to the table. Following is ‘Curse Crimson’, dropping the 4/4 kick pattern for a raw, thrashing track, while ‘Mr. Unchained’ delivers a hard-hitting and relentless stomper.
For HATELOVE’s take on ‘Tsukuyomi’, the Polish DJ/producer delivers a no-holds-barred remix, bringing harsh electronics to the forefront. Label boss AXKAN closes out the release with his interpretation of ‘Great Red Dragon’, with crunching percussion nestled between warehouse rattling kick drums carrying the track deep into the night.
