Sly Faux announces part 1 of ‘The Vangelist’ LP on Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD
Hailing from Melbourne, Sly Faux has been a core part of the global techno underground for almost a decade, blurring the lines between live and DJ performances with his high-impact technical sets seeing him share bills with the likes of Sandwell District, Answer Code Request, and more. As a producer, he has served up vital tunes on labels like Grain Records, Elevate and One4SevenOne as well as MOOD, where he pours his signature sounds into this much anticipated new album.
The epic ‘Innocente’ opens up with a bright, tense synth that awakens your every sense before disappearing to nothing. Ambient pads then arise from the quiet before suspenseful synth modulations build a stark mood that again gets your attention. ‘Emerald Exchange’ then takes off on cantering drums, with blistering synth work and powerful bass adding real weight. Lastly, ‘Spying Through A Storm’ is an eight-minute masterpiece with celestial pads floating way up in the sky. Melancholic chords also ring out as the techno mood ebbs and flows in theatrical fashion.
The project arrives via Nicole Moudaber’s MOOD label as three separate EPs, with the final installment arriving alongside the completed album on 12th November for streaming and digital release.
