Ryan James Ford – Memory Screen (SHUT, SHUT004)

Canadian producer Ryan James Ford preps a solid four track techno release entitled ‘Memory Screen’ on
his SHUT imprint this April.

Launching his own label in 2016, SHUT has largely acted as a platform for the Berlin-based producer’s own
releases when he’s not been making appearances on Marcel Dettmann Records and Answer Code Request’s
eponymous imprint. The Calgary-born artist’s consistent rise over the last few years has been enviable to say the
least, touring Europe, South America and Asia including venues like Berghain, Shelter and Sub Club.
Vigorous drums open ‘Dress Parade’ as dispersed noises stab and rattle throughout to generate an aesthetic
geared for the warehouse setting. Syncopated percussion and thudding hits of bass then make up ‘Brixa Endt’
before entering relentless galloping kicks and floating atmospheric synths in ‘Crosscut’. Tying it all together,
‘Rachel Whiteread’ is the most delicate production on the package with its playful melodies and soothing
harmonies.

Ryan James Ford ‘Memory Screen’ drops via SHUT on 20th April 2018.

Tracklist:

1. Dress Parade
