Idem Nevi – Tangerine EP (Requested Soul Records, RESO003)
French producer Idem Nevi is back on his new Requested Soul imprint with ‘Tangerine’ EP featuring three entrancing techno cuts.
Idem Nevi is a self-taught producer from Toulouse, South of France, who creates expansive, melancholic techno peppered with heavy beats and deep melodies. Idem’s catalogue of work, which includes an EP and album on Wyld Records in addition to his ‘Athena’ EP on his newly launched Requested Soul imprint, has garnered a vast amount of support from names such as Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Charlotte de Witte, 747, Marcel Fengler, Sasha, Kmyle, Regal, Boxia, Maceo Plex, Joseph Capriati, Slam, Regal, Paco Osuna and many more. For his second release on the label, Idem Nevi releases three effervescent tracks including a collaboration with one of his best friends Bay Of Fires, who has releases on labels like Oleeva Records, Nie Wieder Schlafen, Iconyc, and more recently Shagara Records.
The lead track ‘Tangerine’ featuring Bay Of Fires combines epic synths, heavy kicks and huge pads to create a dark charming ambiance, inviting you to dive into a trippy dance floor journey. ‘Easel’ follows up with a combination of energy & delicacy, creating an evolving voyage between resounding beats, wide leads and a driving melody before ‘Molly’ lays down revolving modulations, uplifting atmospheres and sludgy 303s that flutter underneath the irresistible groove harmoniously.
