Our Tuesday selection: G-Alessandro – The Shift EP (Distrackt Records, DR00.00.14)
Distrackt Records roll out their second offering of 2020, with Colombia’s finest export G-Alessandro returning with “The Shift” EP, featuring two cuts of prime time techno.
No stranger to the Distrackt faithful, Alessandro is releasing his third EP on the Irish based techno label. Following on from the success of his High Density and Disclosed EP’s, the G-man once again delivers with his unique style of driving techno, expertly showcased on The Shift EP.
A-Side:
The Shift – A heavy kick drum swept along by an undercurrent of sub-bass and groo- vy percussion make The Shift rumble and roll, a deep stab, sustained note and vocal hook build the tension, swinging hi-hats and rolling drums give The Shift it’s groove
and drive.
B-Side:
Voltekk – Dubbed dirty synths stabbing over pounding drums and rolling percs make the body of Voltekk, the, vocal hooks add depth and tone all combining to transform Voltekk into a real audio assault.
