Hatzler – AccenT – (Stil vor Talent, SVL165)

Hamburg based german DJ and producer Mathias Hatting aka Hatzler started already in the mid 90ties with various projects and releases as artist on labels like Injection, Confused, Bush, Superstition, Spiel-Zeug, Terrace. Most successful was the Duo Motion Unit with buddy André Winter on Oliver Huntemann`s imprint Confused Recordings.
For a couple of years he wanted to experiment with other musical genres, working as a freelance sound-designer, soundtrack composer and production developer and built up a studio for that. Now he is returning to electronic dance music where all his experience comes together. And this is how it’s sounds like …

Tracklist: Hatzler – AccenT (Stil vor Talent, SVL165)

01. SkyT
02. KreaT
03. SkyT (Sian Remix)
04. SkyT (Viktor Ruiz Remix)

01. SkyT
Impulsive techno driven by massive synth stabs which set the tone and the direction. The path leads through a valley where dark industrial sounds meet light atmospheres, all based on a groove grid of carefully and well placed drum elements. Banger.

02. KreaT
The bass creeps slowly around the house before it bursts through the door and immediately fills the space with its omnipresence. Energy charged stabs allow the track to gain momentum and rise. Reversed drone sounds keep the track in balance and let it sound smooth and groovy.

03. SkyT (Sian Remix)
Powerful and minatory is the behaviour of the track and the bassline. A whale song-like synth levitates the whole, the drums provide the tightness. Support comes from the pads, which let it rise even higher, until the groove brings you down to earth again and back on the dance floor.

04. SkyT (Viktor Ruiz Remix)
A harmonious combination between the heavy bassline, the mighty stabs from the original track and a bright atmosphere. Furthermore there is this hypnotic synth arpeggiator, which rises higher and higher just before everything dissolves in an endless driving deepness.

Conclusion: All tracks are club tunes, it’s a super solid release. Difficult to find a favorite, all of them are very good productions. Well, the Skyt original wins by a nose.
