Thema Recordings returns this October with five techno cuts from Kombination Research label boss The Advent titled ‘Dorian Blue’.

London’s Cisco Ferreira aka The Advent has provided a steady output of releases since 1994, making appearances on Tresor and Internal, not to mention helming his own Kombination Research imprint (launched originally alongside Colin McBean). Having just dropped a successful release on Klockworks, Ferreira now follows the likes of DJ Spider, Elbee Bad and Gabriella Vergilov to release on Lenny Posso’s respected Thema Recordings.

To kick things off, ‘Kombination 100’ delivers swirls of modulated tones with looping kicks and rattling high hats. Next up title track, ‘Dorian Blue’ offers smooth, pulsating frequencies through undulating synth progression and deep oscillations resonating underneath before progressing into ‘In Time (The Brooklyn Edit)’ that delivers a fast paced drum groove, balanced with glossy melodies and futuristic elements.

‘The Rhythm’ then includes a scattered, fluctuating percussion layered with emotive strings and a voice repeating the track name providing an enticing and energetic spectacle. Finishing off with digital only track, ‘Scroll’ which displays a momentum-building display with erratic compositions keeping you on your toes throughout.
